LumApps: Our Mission in Engineering
At LumApps, we are committed to building the digital workplace of the future. Our Engineering teams are focused on creating a seamless, personalized, and engaging experience for employees worldwide. We value technical excellence, predictable delivery, and a culture of continuous improvement, driven by the adoption of modern technologies and AI.
The People & Growth (P&G) Tribe is a cornerstone of this mission. Its focus is on technology that helps employees JOIN, GROW, and THRIVE at work, encompassing HR flows, learning experiences, and workplace culture.
As Engineering Director, you will be the strategic leader responsible for the technical direction and organizational success of this critical area, overseeing high-profile integrations and a major AI-driven roadmap.
*Missions*
Defining Strategy and Driving Outcomes.
This role requires a critical balance between organizational design, talent development, and high-level strategic oversight. You will lead the P&G Engineering organization, ensuring technical execution aligns perfectly with business objectives.
1. Strategic Leadership & Technical Accountability
You own the technical and delivery strategy for the entire P&G Tribe. This includes: Driving the Technology Roadmap: Defining and owning the technology roadmap and championing cross-tribe engineering initiatives (e.g., migrating to a common framework) to ensure strategic technical alignment.
Owning Delivery Outcomes: Ensuring overall roadmap delivery in partnership with the Product Director. You are the ultimate owner of predictability of delivery, making crucial trade-offs that balance quality with time-to-market.
Operational Excellence: Guaranteeing the establishment and effective use of Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) across all teams.
AI and Productivity: Driving and measuring quarterly improvements in AI adoption and engineering productivity.
Business Alignment: Ensuring strong alignment of the tribe’s technical strategy and roadmap with overall business goals and company Objectives.
2. People & Organizational Management
You lead our Engineering Managers and are responsible for the health and composition of the P&G Engineering Tribe.
Team Structure: Defining how engineering work is organized, structuring the tribe, and maintaining workforce balance. You ensure teams are not overloaded, and resources (size and seniority) are aligned with top priorities.
Talent Development: Providing dedicated mentorship, career guidance, and performance management for Engineering Managers.
Performance Calibration: Leading recurring performance calibration for all engineering talent within the tribe.
Process Improvement: Driving continuous improvement of engineering processes, culture, and tools, fostering both the human dimension (management, culture) and the strategic/organizational dimension.
3. Collaboration & Oversight
You are the key communication channel for the tribe, providing transparency and seeking critical input from partners.
Key Consultation: You will provide expert technical counsel to Product Directors on roadmap strategy and vision, and to other Engineering Directors on overarching technical decisions. Your expertise will be sought by Engineering Managers and senior engineers on technical challenges and feasibility.
Delivery Oversight: Defining and monitoring key engineering KPIs and metrics, including predictability and team velocity. You will be actively informed on all tribe-level engineering KPIs, external dependencies, and delivery progress, ensuring issues are tracked and addressed.
Communication: Facilitating robust internal and external technical communication to ensure transparency and clarity across the organization. You will also support teams in resolving technical escalations and complex challenges.
The P&G Tribe: High-Impact Focus
The P&G Tribe is currently executing a roadmap with significant strategic weight, notably the deep integration with our partner, Beekeeper (BKPR).
People Flow: Unifying HR flows and profiles across systems, delivering clarity and efficiency for employee journeys (onboarding, offboarding, essential HR functions).
Learning: Empowering employee upskilling and reskilling, including complex migrations and innovation around AI in learning.
People Thrive: Building a culture of appreciation and continuous growth through surveys, feedback, and recognition programs.
*Skills*
We are looking for an engineering leader with:
8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and delivery.
3+ years of experience managing multiple Engineering Managers.
Proven ability to define and execute complex, multi-quarter technical and organizational strategies.
Expertise in setting and achieving operational excellence via SLIs/SLOs and performance metrics.
Exceptional communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
Ready to help millions of employees JOIN, GROW, and THRIVE?
